  4. Monitors
  5. Headphones
  6. DAW

  9. Acoustic Foam Panels
  10. Cables

These are recommend gear for your Music Studio setup. We can remove some products from the list if we have low budget, will discuss in this article. So let’s start step by step in the list with products. I am also giving the list of products which you can easily purchase from Amazon.

  1. Computer: First of all you need a good computer. My recommendation is to use minimum I3 machine with 8 GB Ram. Why? because we need to run some music production software so this is the minimum configuration needed for you home. You can easily check (Lenovo – IdeaPad 3, Dell Inspiron, HP 15.6)
  2. Audio Interface: used for record high quality sound from your machine / laptop because laptop’s sound card is not that much powerful to record studio quality sound. So we need a good hardware like : (Focusrite Scarlett Solo, M-Audio AIR 192, PreSonus AudioBox)
  3. Mic / Microphones: I suggest Condenser Microphone for recordings. Because of their sensitivity and fidelity, Condenser Microphone provide a wider frequency response range than their dynamic Microphone. Ex (Blue Yeti, Stellar X2 Large Diaphragm, Warm Audio WA-47jr) Such microphones records crisp vocals.
  4. Monitor: Normal speakers won’t work well with such setup. We suggest you to use Professional Studio monitor like (Presonus Eris E3.5-3.5, Edifier R2000DB,Acoustic Audio by Goldwood). We need crystal clear sounds so we need such high quality monitors.
  5. Headphones: When you don’t use Monitors all the time you need some good set of professional headphones which are specially designed for Studios. Like (Bopmen Over Ear Headphones, Shure SRH440, Behringer Studio Headphones (BH 770))
  6. DAW: Digital Audio Workstation / Software for your PC for professional recording. There are so many expensive daw available in market. You can use such software for mixing, multi tracks, virtual instruments like guitar, drums, piano and thousand of sound effects under 1 project. They also includes plugins, multiple channels, multiple track for live and easy work. Most of them are Free with limited functions. You can use them and make perfect melodies. Ex (Logic Pro, FL Studio, Ableton Live)
  7. Pop Filter: A pop filter, pop shield or pop screen is a noise protection filter for microphones, typically used in a recording studio. It serves to reduce or eliminate popping sounds caused by the mechanical impact of fast-moving air on the microphone. Here are some (Microphone Pop Filter, Pop Filter,Aokeo, Mic Pop Filter)
  8. Midi Keyboard: A MIDI controller is a simple way to sequence music and play virtual instruments on your Mac or PC. It works by sending MIDI data (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) to a computer or synthesizer, which then interprets the signal and spits out a sound. Ex (AKAI Professional MPK Mini MK3, M Audio Keystation Mini 32)
  9. Acoustic Foam Panels: Sound absorbing foams are typically softer and more lightweight than their sound blocking counterparts. Acoustic foam is an open celled foam used for acoustic treatment. It attenuates airbone sound waves, reducing their amplitude, for the purposes of noise reduction or noise control. Ex (JBER 48 Pack Acoustic Foam)
  10. Cables: are needed to make connection between your computer, audio interface, mic, and midi device. Ex (Cable Matters 2-Pack Premium XLR to XLR)

What if i have low budget?

If you have low budget, you can avoid Monitors Speaker, Foam Pads and go for free version of any daw and you can use your old PC also. However by using such equipment you can easily setup your dream home studio. Will cover video recording and editing tricks in our upcoming articles.
